Roadblock
OK, so, one picture I always wanted to post is from the return trip. Everything went fine on the trip in both directions, but traffic had issues both ways.
On the way to CO Jess drove first and had about 4+ hours to go about 100 miles...That's what you get driving away from LA on the 10/15 Wednesday before thanksgiving.
On the way home, we came home Saturday, to miss the big Sunday rush. We were cruisin' and doing great. Only bad weather was heading into Flagstaff we hit some snow for about 10-20 minutes. No real problem, though. However, we did have a little problem here:
This truck was hauling down the road and the driver fell asleep, drove down the westward embankment, across 80 feet of a culvert and then flew up our side's embankment and landed entirely across the road. Luckily, the driver was fine. Luckily, we had just stopped for gas and took a moment. I was tired and we were low on fuel. I felt a need to stop, get gas, and we'd likely stop to rest at the next rest stop.
However, we never made it there, and being stopped by this truck for TWO HOURS, kinda woke me up. I said we were lucky, though, because, we were 20+ cars back...if we hadn't stopped for gas, possibly we could have gotten hit by this guy. If we hadn't stopped, maybe we could have gotten home, sooner, too. But basically, we're happy to be safe and have gotten home.
